Thank you Ray. I have had a fluorescent tube in the kitchen for the whole
of the time I have lived in this house and it is fine. I suppose that in
the 34 years I have lived here I have replaced the tube maybe three times
and the starter switch once. No problem. However I have had several of
the small ES lamps in this room over the past five or six years, and their
life has been limited. The problem is not with line voltage which is rock
steady on the voltage it is supposed to be. As part of the AR setup I have
a meter on the line all the time.
Cheers,
Bob VK6BE.
