I used a different method to this. I put a small boulder in a men's sock
tying the line to the open end of the sock.I then held the open end and
slung the whole thing up over a branch on the tree. The stone being in the
swinging end of the sock there is quite a mechanical advantage and little
difficulty in reaching a fair height. The line needs to be light - fishing
line or similar and it can be used to pull the aerial wire up over the
branch. I got my antenna up 60 feet using this method. However as with an
arrow thick foliage can be a problem. I must say I missed a few times
before I got it up.
