Hello
I must confess , I saw the idea in the CQ Magazine , BUT I
had something like that already on the back burner.
Its some ... yet not so new technology, but years ago future
was dreams, dreams of a Farad capacitor less the size of a
football field...
The availability of 1 Farad Capacitors and its derivatives ,
mostly used for memory retention on digital computer boards,
can help in other ways.
Basically , and the original author mentioned - for instance
- electric screw-drivers, which have such devices applied,
can supply the last bit of "OOHHMP" when a screw is
tightened.
Or could supply a LED Lamp project, with a hand driven
generator.
These capacitors come in - what I have seen, 5,5 volt
servings at a Farad or a half. To put them in series,
doubling the voltage of course, an added 10K resistor is
recommended to put in paralel of each peace. And for
reverseable drills an recifier brige circuit was
recommended.
So far so good. Now there are more possible applications for
these projects , and thats where Hams ingenuity should set
in:
IN RC , like radio-controlled modells , especially planes,
there could be an primary battery fitted , a Lithium 3 Volt
or double that - AND a 1 Farad or so capacitor to drive the
short term energy use of the servos.
It could be used in other safety circuits , that allow with
low power circuits, to supply the "OOHMP" to drive a
solenoid to open a safety enclosure.
These could drive LED or other flash circuits never b4
possible, at smallest size.
For QRP circuits , like small CW milliwatt transmitters they
could easily be used to increase output power... of course ,
if these clods want that...Hehe.
If - wherever the starup power cannnot be matched by the :
to small, to old or inadeqate battery - such a circuit
should be envisaged.
Anything that uses - in real short terms - a lot of juice
and lays dormant for longer times.
This idea, also copied somewhat, is intended to rival other
senders to : Why dont U send annother interresting Bull.
Well , intention is there...hopefully appraciated. Never
mind.
