The antenna analyzer mini-VNA is a very important and
valuable instrument for all antenna work on HF and 2m.
Available from: see Google "mini-vna"
I received my instrument last week.
It connects to the computer via USB interface, and displays
SWR, Z, Xs, Rs, Phase over the specified frquency range.
Minum SWR is found automatically.
With this help any antenna is adjusted immediately, as
one sees directly what happens with the antenna.
Much easier and quicker than with the MFJ-259 / 269,
and also cheaper ...
At the installation I ran into a problem that was not mentioned
in the installtion instruction:
error 13 - device error
Cause:
The software does not run in country setting "Germany"
and probably also not in most other countries.
After setting region-setting to: English(US)
everything was fine.
The present software (V229) has an other big error:
The calculation of Q and B is wrong.
But since June 9th we have a new, much better
software, made by PA7N (many thanks Erwin !)
This software rund also with regional setting
"Germany", the screen is scalable to any size,
the scale is well marked in SWR and db
what is missing in the original software.
