I used a TV antenna on 6 metres for some years. IN OZ there was Channel 0
which was just below the 52-54 meg band and using the low end of it. We
amateurs were shoved up onto 52-54 megs to make way for Ch 0. All I had to
do to the antenna was short out some aluminium transformers and it was on
freq. Most if not all of the Ch.0 TV transmitters have closed now and we
have had the 50-52 end of the band again for some years.
When I first moved to my present location I made up a cubical quad for 6.
This was very easy using square wooden hubs with holes drilled to take
wooden dowels as spreaders and a cut down broom stick for a boom. Worked
quite well and was easy to disassemble for mobile work.
