Of course you are right Jose Maria!....and in the diagram I sent one has to
use rectifiers that can handle the requested current for the load....

An other way is to mount a heavy rectfier after the equipment fuse to the
other (minus-)line. At wrong connection that rectifier blows-up the fuse,
this will be the most simple way.
