Hello , especially OM Pete

The MHz/Mcs conundrum

Hertz 1857-94 , the german physicist, after which the unit
of 1 cycle, the Hertz is named.
Mhh, When did people stop using cycles and did use Hertz?
When precisely might never be answered. Politics probably.
Probably due to a lost WAR. Or even 2 lost ones.
The Electrical pocket book of 1927 for instance does not
list germany under the headings of : Foreign Money-Weights
and Measures.it starts with Argentina and ends with the USA.
No Germany. Politics probably.
In the years later to come, metrics , like Centigrade and
such took hold.
Time heals all wounds, the precise moment Hertz was allowed,
might never be pointed to.

The Hertz in honour to a german physicist. Look , if he was
a SWISS specimen , there might never have been a cycle...
Individuals are judged by their capabilities only as long as
they are not attached to a Country. Nowadays , when - for
instance - Soccer players are bought to play for "any"
country...this constraint is eased somewhat.

When precisely did that custom start? this might be easier
to pinpoint.
