A small core will saturate more easily.
Racal used what looked like 3 standard 6inch ferrite rods bound together
(in parallel) poked in and out the bottom of one of their commercial
designs. (Multiband, swiched, tapped, base loaded vertical).
We will leave out the fact that virtualy any bit of wire with an ATU is
far more efficient than the beast.
