 It's induced - the vanes have a very high voltage on them,
lets call this a primary.

Your little grub screw is now a secondary.

Even the smallest amount of "turns" coupled with
such a high voltage will still give quite a charge

The plane of the grub screw and chassis hole have
probably got something to do with it too,

 quarter inch wooden dowel is the way forward.
