A good point. I don't think my circuit is capable of tripping on and off
50 times per second, but if I do run into trouble with a rough sensor
voltage, an RC filter will cure it.

And the trouble with the comparing was due to the 741 not being suitable
for such low voltages. An LM358 does the job now and it works fine.
