---------------------------------------------------------------
litre is not an SI unit, but (along with units such as hours
and days) is listed as one of the "units outside the SI that
are accepted for use with the SI."

NIST note

The SI unit of volume is the cubic metre (m3).
---------------------------------------------------------------

I notice the metre cubed m3 doesn't have a name such a
Pascal,Newton,Saddam,Pascal etc.

I therefore volunteer my name as the name for an m3.an Ian. Short, simple
and easy for multiples e.g hectian, millIan, decIan.

Just as clear as all those other units' names. No need to multiply by
98.somethingorother to convert to grammes/grams weight.

I feel sure the Bureau Internationale de Pois et Mensuration would be
happy to have a new name for an as yet unnamed unit.

Voteez pour moi Ian pour m£.

All the best from - Ian, G0TEZ @ GB7FCR
