There are several proofs for Pythagoras.

One of the easiest to show is the Euclidean proof that uses simple
geometry.
It may be a simple to show but sadly does not fit the predemoninantly
text based world that is AX.25 packet. In which case a nice animated

worth a visit.

A trawl of that infernal interweb will show many pages dealing with this
and many other basic maths concepts.
