I have bought one of these old RS232 Data set testers, as I used to use one
for work many years ago.
The one I bought appears to have an Eprom fault as it comes up with "ERROR" on
power up & on self test is says "BAD CS ROM SUM". It has an optional plug in
rom package, but it makes no difference if it is in or out! So I assume I need
a new 2732 EPROM (under the interface PCB next to the Z80 part No 160-0836-50)
data as it was programmed in 1980 and may now have be corrupted with age. The
checksum on my EPROM tester is Hex 13D4, and heating up the Eprom (worked on
other old eproms) has made no difference. If you have an 834, could send me the
data from it please. In hex on packet or I can give a e-mail address if needed.
Also has anyone worked on these testers before and got advice or circuit info
for it? I would appreciate any information on the unit.
