I endorse Jeff's remarks about the Canon. Mine was expensive, however, at
$A2000 - 8 megapixels and all the bells and whistles. The previous cheapie
I had (Sony) gave no trouble with battery failure either. I am sure you
have a problem with yours failing as quickly as that.
