Hello UHF Experimenters
I've found yet another error in the ARRL UHF/Microwave
Experimenters Manual 1990 edition. An equation on page 9-45 is wrong.
Eq 1 is shown as C = 1.066 + (N-5) * 0.003
It should be C = 1.165 - (N-5) * 0.003
The Gp formula then gives a result that closely matches Fig 4, whereas
the Gp number is screwed up with the erroneous formula for C. The numbers
on the X axis for Fig 3 are reversed. The error also means that the BASIC
programme gives inaccurate results.
It's possible that the errors have been fixed in later editions of this
book. Does anyone have a later edition?
