This is in fact already being sorted out in the US. It has been shown that
nuke waste can be safely put in a mountain, and left there. Anyway, who
really cares about it after a few hundred years; none of us will be here.
Technology at that stage will be incomprehensible, and there should not be
any trouble for future generations to deal with it.

Taking all factors into account, the danger of dying from nuclear waste is
likely smaller than any other power generation scheme.
