What follows is totally my personal view and thoughts on the matter.
Time exists as NOW and NOW only, for all of us here. Allthough a person in
Japan and a person in America lives by different TIME-ZONES they exist
both in PRESENT TIME (proof: phone him up and you are talking to him in
PRESENT TIME, hi,hi).
Hours and minutes (and other time-measuring systems) are arbritary systems
that were introduced to measure the position of our planet in relation to
our sun and it happened to be cyclic, thus very much needed to predict the
next rain or cold weather etc. The same applies to the whole universe. The
martians on Mars or the dragons of Draco exist in NOW just like you and
me.
There is no past (meaning there exists no time but present time), but a
collection of memories (pictures mental and otherwise) that convince us
that some other moment of existence is not the same as THIS moment of
existence (present time), that what existed when the planet was at
position A does not exist when the planet is now in position B or that
what exists now will still exist when the planet has spun around another
100 times (future).
PRESENT TIME is like an tik-tik-tik that we all subscribe to and PRESENT
TIME is the same for ALL subscribing to the tik-tik-tik and PRESSENT TIME
is what gives us reality (try making a 2meter contact by transmitting on
HF, ONLY when you and the other guy is on the SAME freq will communication
occur!).
PRESENT TIME let us all track on the same track, thus in my humble opinion
it is impossible to 'travel' back in time, OUR time!.
This DOES NOT mean there cannot be another PRESENT TIME for another group
of beings in the same universe or another universe. The universe's
time-base runs into quadrillions of 'years' thus its PRESENT TIME APERTURE
is wide enough to allow different PRESENT TIMES to run in the same window
(if your receiver can recaive a 40khz signal then it wouldn't matter too
much if the transmitting station is a few khz off freq, but with a
receiver with a 0.5khz receiving window the transmitting station has to be
much more precisely tuned).
Their agreement on their own PRESENT TIME determines their reality. Look
at it as their PRESENT TIME not running tik-tik-tik but maybe
trrr-tik-trrr-tik and thus they are invisible to us and we do not know
about them untill we can adjust our tik-tik-tik to also include
trrr-tik-trrr-tik (maybe through an interface, hi, hi). (Analogy: a
computor needs all clocks to run same or harmonically, if PCI-clock is not
running the same as the BIOS-clock the BIOS will not 'see' the PCI, and if
you ask the bios about the PCI he will deny any knowledge and probably
have you commited to an asylum!)
Whether they made the Eldridge disapear, they probably did, whether they
moved it to a different position 'instantaneously', they probably did,
whether they 'travelled back in time, UNlikely, whether they clocked into
a 'different' time-base, VERY likely.
When a person here on earth doesn't run with the general 'checksum' he is
ridiculed and institutionalised, and vice versa applies too: when one gets
institutionalised he is probably running on a different clock. Craziness
has all to do with PRESENT TIME. A lot of the crew of the Eldridge went
insane, just another clue to what happened.
Now with all the obvious things out of the way the point I actually want
to make is regarding the 'Aliens':
The Aliens (lots of different races) have been around for thousands of
years and will be around for thousands of years to come.
They would call us 'Aliens' would we to visit them!.
Some come with good intentions, some not!
As my mother said: "DEAL WITH IT!"
