Hello

Well , then : when heating the timbers to 50 degrees will do
then why use RF heating ?
I would presume , when the location of the death watch
beetle and wood-worm is reasonably known, and maybe is just
infesting 1 or 2 peaces of timber or so - the use of regular
Mains-operated heating cable...the kind to prevent water
pipes of freezing or to heat larger fish-tanks etc. might
do.
Some might be thermostatically controlled as well. Or the
stuff for underfloor electric heating or else?

Probably with a layer of glass-wool or such for insulation
:
first wrap the timber in question with approbiate lenght of
cable , then add a layer of glass-wool and a nice little
min-max Thermometer or so to get the right degree.

Do one peace at a time. Would be cheaper and time consuming
so. But not as elaborate than RF heating (sorry JIB!)

I would presume that around 70 centigrade is safe for
everything...Nails, Cables and Operator.

Much safer than the 3 Kg of U 235...and probably a whole lot
cheaper too. Otherwise the Russians might have a nice bonnet
of Plutonium for sale...might as well get rid of ants and
such.

Annother Idea would be , if the Timbers in question could be
suitable acessed , to install a big size mirror and let the
sun do the work. Direct sun for 2 to 3 hrs might heat
enough?
Depends on the location and the Weather.
