Hi Patrick and anybody still awake,
Pardon my sarcasm but this thing has gone way too far AFTER the issue has
been settled. You may be still confued, no wonder with all the back and
forth out of order comments. Well, due to transit time packet gets like
that.
Here's how it went down:
Jeff started the engine.
He disconnected the battery.
Then he started switching on the acessories.
When he switched on the headlamps the inrush killed the exitation current
by momentarily, massively overloading the alternator.
The engine died, end of experiment.
He already knows this although not before it was explained to him. You
guys out there still haven't concluded that Jeff as it sorted out and are
still beating him over the head with it. This I know because he told me a
couple of days ago.
