Oh Warren,
it's about time that you get out of your New Jersey back yard and see a
little bit more of the world, and of the world's car lights :-)
I have never understood why the break lights are also used for tuning
indication, but you must have a good reason for that, while the rest of the
world has independent lights for both...
Amber (or yellow) fog lights have been used in earlier years, but I haven't
seem them after the late 80s. There must be some reason they became white
that has not yet reached the USA, hi... But maybe it was just another EU-rule.
To enlighten you, brake lights differ from the rear fog light by their number:
While there are two regular (and sometimes one center) brake lights, there is
only one rear fog light (on the left side). The brightness is about equal,
and that's why it hurts when those lights are left on at nights with good
sight - they are just too bright.
