You're not alone, that's been standard operating practice for years.

Please define "fair". Then ask yourself "Fair to whom?" Fair only to the
Spanish, Japanese, Russians, WHO? For more years than I can count English
has been the language of general global communications. Just ask any
airline pilot no matter where he comes from and he'll answer you in
ENGLISH.
Frankly that's about as fair as you can get since Esperanto proved a
dismal flop. One common language had to be chosen and it was chosen well.
No, not because it's MY language, but because it's so widely taught in
schools as a second language all over the world.
