Hi Mark and readers,

7+ is an old Internet protocol using 8b which is why it's called 7+
(ASCII) to begin with. 7+1=8 if my arithmatic has stood the test of time.
WQell, After all you said it, but that's not why binaries are larger (not
the primary reason at least) than text files. They contain many times
more information, not just a few 8th bits.

Now we get to peoples' objections, file size and number of files sent all
at once. Some abuse the network by sending files larger than the
recomended size (some actually promote this practice) and send them all
at once resulting in a huge knot which bumps other traffic off the
system. If the files are trimmed to something resembling a large text
file and sent in dribs and drabs allowing other traffic to share rather
than hogging the BBS all runs smoothly.

Now why are we quibbling over the first paragraph when the second is the
important one? The protocol matters not, hogging is the real issue here.
(As always!) Thankfully most have finally gotten it through their heads
and it's no longer a serious issue, unfortunately some such as Jose`
haven't realized this yet. No biggie, he'll come up to speed soon enough,
has probably gotten the message already since I haven't seen any comments
from him since he voiced his objection.

Aaaahhh, it'll be nice when this dies down and peace returns to the
valley. Maybe it's time for ME to shut up? (;->)
