Now if you want to REALLY get scary, look into the technical reasons why
Hiroshima and Nagasaki were chosen for targets rather than some out of
the way military installations or even manufacturing centers. I'll give
you a hint, those cities were deliberately held as virgin population
centers while we were bombing the hell out of the rest of Japan. Think in
HUMAN terms and you can't help but weep, mourn for the innocent.
Eh ?!
I'm not sure what Warren is on about there.
Certainly Nagasaki had dockyards and military installations.
"Virgin population?" do you mean they were populated by virgins?
What's this innocent?
The Japanese started WW II in 1937 by invading and imposing a Japanese
government on China, Manchuria to start with. In some ways they were worse
than the fascists. In addition to having equivalents to the gestapo, SS
and concentration camps, they went a rapimg and pillaging.
Something the Nazis were forbidden to do as it wasn't in keeping with
their view of the 'Ubermensch'.
The Chinese actually had their own War Crimes trials after the war, very
similar to Nuremberg.
None of this was ever really made public. After all, they didn't
start off by killing Americans and, though they killed 18,000,000
not just 6 million, no one seemed to notice. perhaps it's because they
were only Chinese. I don't know.
"Innocent ?" I'm not sure what you mean, Warren.
I said, in a previous bull that the well known reason for dropping those
bombs was that, Joe Stalin and his Commies, seeing that the Japanese were
nearly defeated, decided to declare war on them.
The US Army was much further away than the Red Army, just across the water
in China, so the bombs ensured the Japanese surrendered to the Americans,
instead of becoming part of the USSR.
Then again. That could be something else I'm dreaming.....
