Two words come to mind here, Warren.
Dogmatic and patronising.
You stop and think for a minute, then tell me, wgy I should make up a name
like 'Fat Joyce'.
There is, up to a point. World history and American history.
American history, which you swallow wholesale, tells you that the USA
invented everything. Something the rest of the world finds amusing.
I'll bet you think you invented nuclear fission, with a bit of help from
Albert Einstein.
If I tell you that deviceas such as the Cloud Chamber, were in use at
about the time of the Curies to detect Alpha,Beta and Gamma particles.
I suppose you'll tell me I'm dreaming that. Then again, you probably think
they were invented by Edison, the Great. plagiarist.
You don't want to believe that there was a submarine launched V2, even
though you copied it. There was a two stage rocket being built. If there
had been time, there would have been an atomic bomb on New York. Modern
films seem to want to ressurect Heisenberg as some gerat pioneer and bury
Rutherford.
The reason Heavy water was used has been explained by two people on here.
I expect you missed their bulls. Quite simply, it was used as a very
efficient moderator due to the wartime shortage of Uranium. Naturally,
omce an 'A' bomb is built it would hav been very tempting to try fusion.
Two years ago, I started asking questions about Otto Lolienthal. The
reason for my questions was twofold. One. I did want tp go and look at any
memorial or museum to the great man, if I could afford it. Two. I knew
that
the next year, 2003, was almost cwertain to bury us in films extolling the
Wright brothers. Wilbur Wright used the copious notes made by Lillienthal
to design the Wright flyer, such things as the chord and camber of the
wing
were all meticulously noted down. It was natural that Wilbur would rely
heavily on the writings of a man who had mde 2,000 flights and was the
expert at the time. Anyone would have done. It's just a pity that
historians after the event, had to do their best to erase all mention of
Lillienthal from the history books.
I suppose you still believe that Edison invented the electric light bulb.
As spmeone else has said. People like Lilienthal, Sir Joseph Swann, Lord
Rutherford, Anton Tesla, Winmshurst. St Exup‚ry etc., are all dead so it
doesn't really matter what the revisionist historians write., or what they
will write in ten years time.
To paraphrase an advertisement over here:
"The future's bright, the future's Red and striped."
All the best - Ian, G0TEZ @ GB7YFS.#26.gbr.eu
