Gidday Ian,
McDonalds is good at that, trying to ram Americanism down your throat.
They try and do it here in Australia as well.
When I rarely step into McDonalds, I speak my native tongue, and call
their stupid American fries, Chips, and their stupid hotcakes, Pancakes.
Sometimes this sends their preprogrammed morons into a spin as it is
outside their vocabulary.
And when they try their suggestive selling techniques, I say "no thanks,
if I wanted XXXX, I would have ordered it in the first place."
These fast food giants would not exist if they were relying on people like
me for their profits.
