Hooke's Law.
Everyone knows the effect known a Hooke's Law, well that is anyone that
has ever used a spring balance to weigh anything.
The effect was first discovered by Hooke in 1679 and is simply that
STRAIN is proportional to STRESS.
It is commonly obeyed by metals and alloys when the strain is small.
The ratio of (change in stress) divided by (accompanying strain) in
one dimension is known as "Young's Modulus" and is basically a measure
of stiffness.

} With that in mind. If you are over 50, did you learn Hooke's Law at
} school and what is it?
} I don't expect an answer to that one. According to TV. The only school
} which teaches Hooke's Law is Robert Hooke's old school. Not mine BTW.
