Hi Harry

In 1948 I got myself a job in Bristol and left Cardiff. In the " Digs" the
Grandmother worked for Smith's Crips in Bristol and obviously had a large
supply.

Unfortunately when I went back to the digs from work many a time my evening
meal was just Crisp Sandwiches which I think is the reason that these days and
for many years I have never bought a packet of crisps.

Not even any gravy !!! 

When you see Sgt. Jones in Dad's Army the Grandfather was exactly the same and
he always wore a very wide leather belt which he claimed he got from the
"Dervishes" in the North West Frontier in India aad his Tales were endless..
