            Three minor points, for your thoughts..

1 CCT error ?

  Is there a missing cap between 555 pin 5 and Gnd? in the G8MNY cct below?

2 Line Osc jitter ?

  Harry, I think it best to not have the back end of a TV with its line o/p
  trying to lock to incoming syncs, as this is likely to inject jitter into
  into the 15,625 wanted output.  The front end of a VCR would have a tuner
  and IF, but no heavy local line pulsing.

3 7.8 kHz ?

  Why not use the two extra divide-by-two blocks of the 74LS93 units to get
  50% duty cycle signals for phase comparison? ie 1 MHz/128 from your local
  ref and 15625/2 from the incoming syncs, now squared up at 7812.5 Hz.

  Maybe (probably) the 555 fixes that - not sure.  For a 4046 PLL chip this
  conversion to 50% duty cycles should tidy things up - eh Harry?
