Hello Dominic (and some others),
First of all, we can all do without your famous sarcasm and self
righteous attitude.
More importantly, rather than saying more (of your usual ascerbic
remarks) you need to learn, understand, and use the correct terms. It is
not a matter of any difference between the British and American spelling
at all and the parts of an automobile, but rather learning what a bus,
rail, ground, and earth is to begin with. Then you can move on up to
learning the terms used in automotive electrical systems or you'll never
understand the Chilton manuals and waste money at your local garage on
simple repairs you can do at home.
Then you can learn what those various UNIVERSAL symbols and terms mean,
the ones you see on electrical schematics. When was the last time you
built, modified or restored any Amateur (or other) electrical equipment?
You need to learn electricity first, then electronics before you can
discuss things intelligently and without resorting to snotty remarks in a
vain attempt to cover up your ignorance.
I strongly urge you to spend more time learning things needed for
advancement in this field of radio and LESS time calling OTHERS ignorant
when it is YOU who need the cure for it, EDUCATION.
Meanwhile, don't get electrocuted before you learn the difference between
ground and earth. (;->)
