If you want something just to play music CDs
and don't want to pay big money for a fancy
CD or DVD player you can use an old CDROM from a PC.

All you need is 12 volts and 5 volts about 0.5 amps each.
A 7812 and a 7805 3 terminal regulator and a 12 volt
plugpack rated 1 amp will do. The 4 pin power connectors
are easiliy obtained also.
No conections are required to the 40 way connector.

My audio out is by the mini stereo socket on the front.
I think there is a 4 way connector on the back that is
also audio out.

Another alternative for a power supply is to use an old PC
case with only the power supply and the CDROM left inside.

Enjoy your tunes
