Glad to hear you got rip44d running -- it is not uncommon to
have to install some dependencies when running Perl scripts.

Another option that became available recently is the amprd
program, which I believe is implemented in C (it is GPL with source
available). I didn't try it yet, but may have a play a bit later.

I'm not surprised that JNOS have implemented some sort of RIP
process. I had a quick look at JNOS when I was getting into
packet last year, but decided to concentrate on the Linux kernel
AX.25 support instead. i notice you run Linux too -- 
how do you like JNOS running on Linux?
