Subject: NETCPA Meeting, Jan. 10

*Sorry for the Ultra-wide distribution*

Happy New Year! It's meeting time again!

The Northeast TCP Association will be holding it's bi-monthly meeting at the
Meriden ARC clubhouse, in Meriden, CT. on Saturday January 10, 1997 at 10am.
See below for directions.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The NETCPA is the NorthEast TCP Association. It has a very active membership
of
those amateur radio operators interested in the packet radio use the tcp/ip
protocols.

The membership consists of software designers, radio link builders,
application
designers, network designers, and node nd switch operators who wish to learn
and co-ordinate their activities among the membership.

The basic goals are to exchange information on the use of the tcp/ip protocols
in amateur radio packet networks, servers, and other technologies. The group
consists of many active tcp/ip members with varied interests. The NETCPA
has meetings every other month to exchange information for the betterment of
packet operation, setting and promoting standards, and improving the
efficiency
of operations for users of the protocols. Meetings are held at different
locations throughout the Northeast to accomodate members.

A typical meeting consists of a technical session and a business session. The
technical session is first on the agenda. Various members, or outside people
are invited to talk about some technical aspects of tcp/ip protocol
applications.

Here is a brief agenda for the next technical session:

-NNTP Update and co-ordination

-DNS Update - Use of resolvers and Domain.txt issues

-Convers server updates - Looking into a common naming scheme?

-Creation of a sub-committee for the creation of user disk package to be
distributed by the NETCPA

-Creation of a working group for future network design, and new technologies.

-Other items presented during discussion.

In addition to these Items, Barry, k2mf, will be giving a talk about the
