Subject: Packet Radio in Eritrea
Hi Brian et al,
Alan (see Cc) is trying to establish a TCP/IP operation in Eritrea using
Linux and a TNC (perhaps 9600 BPS) and could probably use some help from
you fine folks who use Linux and AX.25/TCP/IP.
Right now, the only way Alan gets E-Mail is through a couple of UUCP
connections between state-side counputer and a couple of computers in
Eritrea.
I think the major thing Alan needs is a How To to run a TNC at 9600 BPS
(perhaps a Paccomm type TNC) on a Linux box. Alan is being provided a
TNC from a Scandavian ham friend if I remember correctly.
Please make Alan's Christmas bright and E-Mail him directly with your
excellent information on how to solve the problem.
ARL Sixty One,
Walt/K5YFW
PS, Alan's sig is after mine.
PPS, If someone would also cross post this to the Linux ham mail group I
would appreciate it. -- k5yfw
