Subject: About the digests I send out...
X-Mailer: IM/Mac [version 1.0b28h]

Hello dear OM/YL,

This letter is about the way I send out some digests to just a few (2 or
3) of my local friends...

First let's make some things clear...

Usually I send out 3 digests...

These digests get sent 'as is', meaning, that since I don't have enough
time to read all of them, I send them out in exactly the same way as I
received them in. Also, I don't want to be like a postman, that reads and
changes mail before delivery...

The digests go to the following addresses (the aliases of october 26 1997),
no more, no less:

pr_broadcast	mac_packet_digest%pa3ecp-2@pa3ecp
				aga_packet_digest%pe1mvx@pa3ecp
				mac_packet_digest@pi1hvh
#
tcp_broadcast	aga_tcp_group%pe1mvx@pa3ecp
				mac_tcp_group@pi1hvh
#
hd_broadcast	aga_hd_digest%pe1mvx@pa3ecp
				aga_hd_group@pi1hvh
				pe1mzu%pe1mzu%pi8yrc@pi1hvh

If your address in this list appears to be wrong then please let me know as
soon as possible, so that I can change that...

If your address is not in the list and still the digests reach you using a
wrong address, then please turn to the guy that has decided to reroute my
mailing to you...

If your address is not in the list and you don't want to receive (one or
more of) the digests, then don't come to me but please turn to the station
that has decided to reroute my mailing to you...

Some hams seem to be rerouting the digests to just about all countries of
the world (I cannot influence that of course)... By doing so it is clear
that the mailheader-part may become larger than the actual digest...

All messages inside the digests contain the e-mail-address of the original
sender. If you feel, that the sender has been contributing letters to the
digest, that contain lies or data that you don't agree with, then send a
note to the sender, not to me or any of the stations that have been relay-
ing the very digest. They (and myself) are just transmitting these digests
to keep others happy, especially those that cannot read them directly from
the internet.

All digests are being sent out containing a proper Subject, which states
the kind of digest as well as its serialnumber... If you seem to be
receiving them without a (proper) Subject-line, then please don't come to
me, but turn to the station that decided to change (or remove) that very
line...

I send out most of the digests in (I believe) 7k pieces, which is far too
short for the few (LOCAL!) addressees I myself send the digests to. They
always complain that the digests sould be sent the way they are when I
receive them (and to be honest, I agree with them), reducing the mail-
headers overhead...

So far I have never met their demands because I know that a lot of people
re-route these digests and that some people have put limits to the size of
digests... I cannot reduce the size any further because that would lead to
let's say digests of 2k containing 10k mailheaders, which of course would
be crazy... Furthermore... That would mean that the very few people that I
actually decided to send the digests to (the same ones that seem to be so
kind to reroute them to you!) would have very good reasons to even complain
more...
