Subject: Digital Signal Processing text

Greetings all,
I wonder if someone could recommend a good introductory text
explaining Digital Signal Processing ? I've read the section
in the 1997 ARRL Handbook, so I'm looking for something that
goes into a little more depth. Ideally I'd like something
that was fairly practical in nature and that provided
C/C++ examples. (I don't want to become expert, just proficient).

regards
Terry
