Subject: Newbi search "newbi-doc" for TCP/IP

Hi!

I'm searching for some good documentation over TCP/IP, on the net or a book!

It must explain TCP/IP from the bottom, but so that a newbi can understand
it. (That's a tricky one;-)

After reading the book (documentation) one should know almost every thing
(That's another tricky one;-) or at least a lot of almost every thing about
TCP/IP.

Thanks in advance

regards
Krister

TCP/IP Illustrated by Stevens is probably the best of the bunch. And if you
survive that you can read volume 2 which takes a real tcp/ip stack apart and
uses it to explain all the implementation issues.

Unless you have a wide ranging knowledge of graph theory, queueing theory
and several other unpleasant mathematical fields (apologies to any
mathematicians on the list) as well as a vast amount of time and equipment
to play with you will never learn everything about TCP/IP. You can budget
3 or 4 years of study to BGP4 alone, and probably 2 years to tracking down
and analysing all the TCP protocol and performance work.
