as

                ---------- English Version -----------
This list is to discuss topics related to tcp/ip communications over
ham radio in Spain.

There seems to be little tcp/ip activity in Spain, and while there is
some in Madrid between a few enthusiasts, activity in other areas of
Spain either does not exist, or we are not aware of it.

Ideally we would like to generate interest in other areas of Spain,
and promote the connection of the different Spanish networks together
either through radio links, or alternatively through Internet gateways
possible for those stations which have permanent access to the Internet.

The lack of a centralised point of reference to ask questions about the
tcp/ip protocols, about how to configure the software, how to use it is
an important obstacle to the progress and use of a protocol which in other
areas is becoming the de-facto standard. Amateur radio is falling behind,
and perhaps we should be experimenting with different ways to implement
the technology based on the problems inherent in a radio network.
To get to this level however, use of tcp/ip must increase, and sufficient
interest must exist for experimentation of this type to be worthwhile.

Hopefully this list will also be used for those hams who need an IP address
to get one assigned more quickly, and for the Spanish IP co-ordinator to be
able to publish periodic changes of the ampr.org network in Spain so that
those of us updating the domain manually have access to this information.

I can be contacted at:

Suggestions and Comments are welcome.
