Subject: Class C subnetting

My apologies if this question has been asked before.

Is a subnet mask 0f 255.255.255.128 valid for a "class c" address of
160.124.80.0 ??

Is my understanding of subnetting a "class c" correct ?

Subnet mask | Networks | Hosts | Bits for mask |

hiya,

Does anyone have any experience with a program called 'iproute', by Dave
Mischer? Looks like just the thing to do 'on-demand' dialup access for the
local amateur 44-net. I'm thinking of putting a machine on my home network
can connecting it to the ka1jy.ampr.org NOS box.

Yes, there is a collection of such things at N1BEE BBS (+1 401 944 8498):

IPRV091.ZIP 147K 4-11-96 IPRoute (IP router & address translator)
PCBRI121.ZIP 69K 4-11-96 Use PC as a cheap Ethernet-Ethernet Bridge
PCRTE224.ZIP 212K 4-11-96 Make PC into TCP/IP router for about $450

Note that IPRoute is a $50 shareware product, while PCRoute is freeware from
Northwestern University with full source code.
