Hi
Visit my site www.elcom.gr go to the downloads section and download the
develop.zip.
In there are all the info you need.
Be aware that the communication is done with frames, each frame has a
header. The header contains 32 bit integers fields, they are not in NETWORK
format but in Windows. Be carefull while parsing the headers.

NO
PocketAPRS is specifically for the PalmOS. Mike Musick wrote it long before
there was anything that would run on any Windows base palm tops. In fact
when PocketAPRS came out there were few non-Palm palmtops and they were DOS
machines a few of which would run APRS DOS
The WinCE/pocketPC versiosn is rather the Johnny-come-lately to the game.

Given this thing has Bluetooth (to one of the Bluetooth GPS's maybe!!!)
and I'm sure a USB or other communications port... it might make for an
interesting portable tracking display ...

I wrote as shown below.
Jack Cavanagh - KB4XF - suggested using a PSK program program most of
which - if not all - include a basic audio frequency spectrum display. I
have not used PSK for several years but managed to dig up Digipan,
installed it and it worked just great for my intended use. There are no
doubt better programs around now, I'm out of the loop. The burning
question is - how accurate are sound cards and programs such as this in
terms of frequency display? I suspect that for this application they are
adequate. There must be programs available for frequency analysis with a
more meaningful display then a PSK program, your input would be
appreciated.
For the '1270B users, go to: http://datagrp.vic.wicen.org.au/xswmods/
for performance mods.

$150 out the gate... love the two displays... one of the game controls
would allow panning/scrolling of pretty large maps... and the other
would allow zoom in/out... the lower screen that is touch screen could
control software driven menu lists...
I'll bet a real "hacker" could make the sound output conform to APRS
packets even!!!!

Thought this was VERY interesting! Is it too late to put an APRS tracker on
this craft??? :)

If it's like the others internally, it's got a uart, and all it would need
is a simple interface in the software cart.
There's at least one company that uses the gameboy to control medical
equipment. $50 for a screen, keyboard, and sound!

Hi All,
I've used APRS several years ago and came back now recently after picking
up a Kenwood TH-D7A(G). Back in the day there was RELAY and WIDE and now
there is TRACE? I've searched over the web and can't really find any good
place that explains it. Can someone point me to a good place? I want to
know what TRACE is and how you use it.

Time ago I read a technical article related to gameboy in a stock inventory
application. Some hacking was required. Don't remember magazine.

Pat,
TRACE works similarly to WIDE except the digipeater will leave its' callsign
in the path so you know which digipeater the packet was routed through.
Using WIDE2-2, the first digi will reduce it do WIDE2-1, and the second digi
will reduce it to WIDE2.
Using TRACE2-2, the first digi will reduce it to DIGI1,TRACE2-1, and the
second digi will reduce it to DIGI1,DIGI2,TRACE2.
In some places, TRACEn-N is being removed to make way for LANs.
Hope this helps!
73s,
Eric KF4OTN
