Yes, FILTER on KPC must be set to OFF. The original aprsd configuration
files for the KPC's incorrectly set this to ON causing the phenomena
that you are seeing. Off hand, I don't know about default TNC in other
IGate software.

Would this be the same as "FILTER" on the Kantronics firmware? Anyone
know?

Except in a case where the TNC is being operated in KISS mode. If Ui-View32
is operated in KISS mode, it's makes no difference what settings the TNC
has. It is preferred that KISS is used to avoid problems like wrong TNC
settings.

Greetings to all,
Just a quick update for those who *might* be wondering if NOSaprs is
still being maintained or developed. The answer is yes. I realize the
last update was quite some time ago, but no one has been complaining
to me about any major problems or lack of features since then, so there
hasn't been alot that needs to be done. My kids have been keeping me
busy enough <grin> ...
Lately however, I have been working on a server module that will provide
a browser based APRS Messaging center for people. This will be really cool
to play with (and yes, it will be useful). More news later on ...

Great news!
One thought to keep in mind. Please look at separating the NOSaprs server
functions from the client functions. While I have an application right now
where I can turn on and start using NOSaprs as a server, I'm also about to
put it in the mobile on an HP palmtop. I'll probably have to hack out the
server functions there to keep memory usage to a minimum.

Yes - that will be very cool. This will be extremely handy in an EOC
environment.
Looking forward to the update!

Just for the heck of it, I'm working on a surface mount version of the
OpenTracker. (Normal through-hole boards should be in stock shortly, BTW.)
The goal here is to make a really small, cheap board that can be integrated
into other stuff easily. DB9's are out because of their size, weight, and
cost.
What I want some input on is connection types. I'm leaning toward an edge
connector that you could solder SIPP-style pins on along one edge, so the
board could be mounted vertically. Minimum pin count is 8, more likely 10
or 12 to include some A/D and I/O.
This isn't something I'm planning on putting into large scale production,
but it should be a fun project for anyone with tight space or weight
requirements.
Suggestions? It's awfully quiet out there today...

What about a modular connector like an rj-11 or 45. Cheap, light and
small(ish).
