Hi Mark.

I used your pre-emphasized audio clip and fed it through my HP 8654B signal
generator. The resulting signal was fed into a Motorola MCX-100 radio. I
then tested two MFJ-1274's, one Kantronics KPC2 and two Paccomm Tiny-2's.
The odd thing is that they all were very close to the same when it came to
decoding a noisy signals. The results I got were:

Tiny-2 - 0.4-0.5uV
KPC2 - 0.4-0.5uV
MFJ - 0.5 - 0.6 uV

In all cases the audio from the radio had a noticeable amount of background
noise at the point where the TNC's began to miss packets. The signal
approaches full quieting at about 1 uV on this radio.

To be honest I expected the MFJ to fair much worse that it did. I'm not
sure why my results are so different from those of others though.
