In case you have not thought of this, I offer the following bit of info;
If you parallel the PTT of the WXTrak to Pin 2 of the 1200-baud radio
connector on the KPC-3 Plus then through a diode to the PTT of the KPC-3
Plus and the radio, it will cause the KPC-3 Plus to hold-off (not transmit)
while the WXTrak is transmitting.
The following is from the KPC-3 Plus manual;
Pin 2 XCD External carrier detect
Pin 2: When a ground is applied to this pin, the KPC-3 Plus will not
transmit packets. This pin is normally used as an external means of
supplying carrier detect, but can also be used as a "hardware" transmit
inhibit.

I believe the TinyTraks also have a PTT in line, don't they? I would think
that may make it hold off until the KPC3 is done transmitting... Or maybe
the WXTraks don't have that?

WXTraK AUDIO IN (pin 5). watches for audio energy (voice, data, or static)
to hold off transmitting over other stations.

There does not seem to be much noted about the Ptt in pin 8 on J1 of the
WxTrak. However, it appears it's function is to serve as an inhibit switch
and the same time as keying the ptt out on pin 3, J1. I've never played
with it but it would pull pin 11 of the pic low as well as pulling the PTT
OUT DOS packet terminal
programme, and pressing the "Print Screen" button on the keyboard in turn
when each was displaying its normal display, and the screen dump of each
appeared in the file. I'm running a 486 and MS-DOS 6.22.
I'll send PRN2FILE.ZIP by 7PLUS.
73, David.
