Dunno what the other one you're talking about is, but the MEO symbol is
in V1.97, both in the update and the full install -

If you haven't got it, then you have managed to somehow screw up installing
the update. Make sure you haven't write protected any of your files in the
UI-View32 program folder, or restored from an old version.

IF the symbol is a red square with a yellow center then I've got the right
file. I was using a modified mysymbols2 set that had the Dept of commerce's
Skywarn symbol. I changed the name of the modified file so UI-View is now
using the correct set. Sorry for the trouble.

I noticed that my errata link to symbolsX.txt did not have some of the
ones that we have discussed here over a year ago. So I updated the list
just yesterday. Again, it is nothing "new", but just getting the list up
to the point where it should have been...

I also edited the TOCALLs file to add a section on ALTNETS because I have
chosen the TOCALL of AP40xx for packets routed through the AO-40
satellites into the APRS-IS and the ALTNET of AP40 for packets intended
for uplink via that route.

The updated SYMBOLS and TOCALLs info have links on the spec errata page:

    http://web.usna.navy.mil/~bruninga/aprs/errata.html

If you have any formal ALTNETS that are of global interest, send them to
me and I will update the list.

Speaking of TOCALLs, does anyone have good contact info for the author(s) of
aprspoint? I tried the email listed on the webpage and got no response.
Since we're out of TOCALL letter assignments, I'd like to propose the use of
APOTxx for the OpenTracker in APRS mode. In OpenTrac mode it uses the
TOCALL of OPNTRC, but there's no special meaning associated with the
TOCALL - packets are identified by their protocol ID (0x77).

Anybody in the New Mexico area know what happened to the Melrose and

Sorry for any dupes, this msg doesn't appear to have gone through the
first time --

I have a good friend who was able to find one of the Radio Shack GPS
receivers, but isn't for a PDA -- all the ones for a PC were sold out.

Is there a source for the PC software that came with the PC version?

Thanks,
Earl

One place where we could make a great LINKn-N would be in all digis along
the Appalachain trail. ATn-N would propogate packets along the trail from
Georgia to Maine.

Although few APRS users actually hike the trial, I have long thought that
a few old PC's running APRS at the occasional ranger station would
encourage some activity, since it would show how the internet can be used
to track someone along the 2000 mile hike...

Over here the biggie is the Pacific Crest Trail, from Mexico to Canada.
Same concept.

Goes through my county, and we have to rescue people off of that every once
in a while. If they all had APRS, we could skip the "Search" part and go
straight to the "Rescue". ;-)
