     Typical of the monopolising sttitude of the big corporations. They
charge you a bundle for the *USE* (not *OWNERSHIP*) of the software, and
then force you into having to do the same again for the upgrade, as they
wont support the older OS. (Carmakers use this ploy with spare parts -
have extorted the public for decades using the same principle!)

 This is one of the reasons why Billy Goats from MurkyShaft do NOT want
open source code. He is of the opinion that he can hold users to ransom
with the monopoly position he holds, with extortionate prices and dodgy
licence agreements to maintain the standard of living we have provided for
him. 

  So who really are the smart ones? Not the sucked-in users of these OS's,
I think (myself included!)
