It took nearly 2 days before the transmitter on 1395 kHz came back on the air.

On Monday tests were heard on the following times (Central European
Summertime)

13.33 - 13.40,
14.11 - 14.17,
14.33 - 14.37,
14.38 - 14.42,
14.43 - 14.43 (hi),
15.09 - 15.16,
16.14 - 16.25 en
16.48 - 17.03.

The tests started with a very distorted signal and ended suddenly.

Till 20.00 (7 p.m. British time) no testes were heard. Later the transmitter
came back on the air and from 10 p.m. on full power. Sometimes there are short
interruptions in the modulation but the carrier remains on the air.

The coming days I will taste the new old sound of Radio London. I was also a
listener to Radio Londons final hour on august 14th. 1967 and I am still
living on the same addres knowing where I was in that final hour.

1395 kHz is now presetted in my receivers.

Latest News Update from

BIG L - RADIO LONDON...

The new BIG L Radio London studios were officially opened by Sir Cliff Richard
OBE on Saturday 14th May, 2005. Hundreds of fans welcomed Sir Cliff when he
arrived in a replica London bus, similar to the one used in the film 'Summer
Holiday'.

Original BIG L deejay Ian Damon started off festivities at 10.00am. After
midday Sir Cliff arrived and Mike Read officially opened the station playing
Cliff's latest release 'What Car'. Cliff was a very appropriate guest as Pete
Brady played Cliff's 'I Could Easily Fall in Love with you' as the first
record when BIG L launched at Christmas 1964.

BIG L has received thousands of telephone calls and e-mails from all over the
world who are now enjoying the great music from RADIO LONDON INTERNATIONAL.

After the champagne launch, many special friends of Radio London mingled with
the stars including The Cheeky Girls who have specially recorded a new version
of "We Love the Pirate Stations" for the station.

BIG L - RADIO LONDON presenters include Mike Read, Michele Stephens, Ian
Damon, Randall Lee Rose and many others.

The station can be heard on 1395 kHz as well as Sky digital channel 940. But a
transmitter fault put BIG L off the air shortly after the launch but it hasn't
stopped listeners tuning in on Sky and the world wide web at www.bigl.co.uk

So keep a regular watch on this site for all the News and updates of The new
BIG L RADIO LONDON. Remember... You'll hear it here first!
