Hi Gianfranco I2DKK and Friends;
I also have read the report on the convicted Vatican Radio
officials who were sentenced to 10 days in prison written by AP.
Fortunately it was automatically suspended as is the routine for
brief prison terms for the first offence.
The case has been on trial for a year and a half and they were
ordered to pay the court costs and the civil damages. It said
the reason of offence is the enviromental pollution by the air
wave. But the report did'nt describe how they polluted ; TVI or
physical damage or anything.
My suprise is the sentence seems too severe for such troubles.
I was an offender too using handmade bare TX in the late 1950s.
Radio radiation in broacasting could not be compared with our
Ham radio so it would heavily be influencial. So there might
be a lack of implementing the desirable obligation.
I had a visit to Vatican in 1985 with my wife and it was located
in a crowded street. It may be the problem to transfer their TX
to the suburbs. I know Vatican Radio have a few relay stations in
Asia or other places. Not to concentrate but to disperse is the
modern thinking. Whoever humbleshimself like this child, he excels
in the kingdom of heaven; better QRP than QRO.
Also pray for Cardinal Tucci and Fr. Borgomeo who were loose on
TVI measure uncousciously. 73 Keizo JA1KW from Yokosuka Japan.
