Personally I very much doubt it would ever achieve anything, as the BBC
has just had its charter renewed for another 10 years. Plus what would it
achieve in the long run? Cheap TV imports and very little home produced
quality TV if it did happen? You have only got to look at what SKY's
achievments are from Pay TV, and adverts. Rip everyone off for low quality
output.
The BBC is one of the few things we have got right in this country, change
the way it is financed, it will ruin it for ever!
The TV licence is very good value for money when you work out what you
get: A mass of Home productions, Documentary, Films, Kids stuff, 24 hrs
News gathering, Sport, BBC TXT, BBC I and a excellent Website etc. Spread
across 7 Channels, Plus Umpteen National and Local radio Channels.. All
will no adverts!
Can you get the same œ126.00 per year of value from the Cinema,
Racecourse, or renting Videos/DVDs each night?
Sorry but the Licence fee and the Beeb has my vote!
