Hello SWLs,

Radio Denmark has been broadcasting on short waves for as long as
I can remember. For many years reception reports sent to them have been
answered by Erik Koie. Now it seems that Radio Denmark is to close down
in a few days time. Here is the text of an e-mail I received from
Erik....

------

Dear All,

As you probably know Radio Denmark short wave closes on December
31, the last broadcast being at 22.30 UTC.

As I NO LONGER have any connection with that Station, please
address any correspondence about it to:

rdktek@dr.dk which is forwarded to the new contact person.

A Farewell broadcast is prepared by Preben Lund to be broadcast
on December 25 from 12.30 UTC, and then repeated 22 times (no b-cast at
03.30 UTC) until the last repeat at 11.30 UTC on Dec. 26.

In the final broadcasts from 12.30 UTC on December 31 a short
Farewell is planned.

After this email I'll close this email-list, and I'll delete all
names and addresses. For your information I can tell you that I'll
continue my normal work in the technical Master Control of the Danish
Broadcasting Corporation.

Thanks for your interest in Radio Denmark.

Finally I of course wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy & Healthy New
Year.

My thanks to Erik for his courteous service to SWLs over the
years - sadly another long standing short wave broadcaster is leaving the
airwaves.

         Season's Greetings and good listening!
