Hello Melvyn,
Lazer FM is not a pirate radio station ANYMORE. Lazer FM/Lazer Hot Hits
is an "Internet radio" station relayed on several legal shortwave
broadcasters.
I couldn't say what station you were actually listening to, but if you
had listened long enough you would have heard the ID at the top of the
hour.
There are several ex pirates gone Internet and their programs are
broadcast via legal SW broadcasters. the famous Radio Caroline may be
heard (Friday evening?) on WBCQ 7417 although beaming southwest from
Maine, you may not get a good signal in the UK. You can get the studio
feed on Live365 however. Weekends ROCK on The Planet!
FYI, WBCQ is the second (legal) generation of the famous WRNI, radio New
York International. They still broadcast "pirate fashion" at times and
it's WILD. The old PAMS ID spots identify the program rather than the
station, you can hear the old pirate ID among others during the Radio New
York International program.
The old pirates may be gone from the air, but they're alive and well on
the Internet, but The Planet came back legally with 5 times the power and
a MUCH better (rhombic) antenna.
FLICK LIVES!
OOPS, spotted a slip of the fingers, make that frequency 7415.
