Hi everyone,
Thanks for your patience. I hav overcome the death rattle this thing
suffered a week ago. I m tillnot sure what the heck caued it, but
following suggestions from many that responded, I did many things,
including reformating & reloading the HDD, which resulted in TPK not
working either!
However, I had a 6 gig bigfoot HDD that just stopped spinning several
months ago, has, with a judicious bit of pressure to one or 2 areas, has
burst into life. It has been done with scandisk & defragged, & hopefully
will survive until a replaement can be procured.
Te firstorder of businesswas to dispatch without hestation, the last 3
part sof the tripeaks game.
I have not put Sally anywhere near this HD, as I suspect, and had it
supported by another ZL ham, that this ws the problem he had encountered.
Even a fdisk/format/reload did nothing. I was hoping this would work,
(Yippee - it did!), as it was working okay before it derotated.
The info that I received via another bulletin, about win98SE causing
comports to suffer from narcolepsy, has not been an issue with me, and the
correction that was suggested, did not have any effect on the troublesome
setup.
So, all is restored, and I hope the parts, so dutifully waiting, have
been rx'ed without error, considering all that it has endured with
file-shunting between drives.
